Digia's employer image soars

Digia came ninth in a survey charting how university students rate potential employers in IT sector. Climbing 13 places over last year, Digia was named the Highest Climber at the University Awards ceremony on Wednesday 28 April. Digia believes that students particularly appreciate its stable financial position and the personal development opportunities it provides.

A total of 7,969 students with technical, economics, IT and legal backgrounds responded to the survey, run by Universum. Some 27,221 ratings, of various employers, were collected.

Digia offers a diverse range of varied tasks
"I think that Digia is ranked highly because it can provide secure jobs based on its financial stability. Students are also attracted by the opportunities we offer for personal development. Because we do challenging, variable work using the latest technology, we continuously train our employees. Students are an important target group
Students are a key target group for Digia. The company has strong ties and cooperates with various universities. For example, this spring Digia and Lappeenranta University of Technology joined forces to train future Android experts in mobile phone product development.

Digia has actively participated in recruitment events organised at universities. For example, its trainee programme has been presented to students and the application process has reached the selection stage.

Social media used in recruitment
Digia currently has dozens of vacancies in various units. These include software developers, SharePoint specialists, Qt developers and Mobile Linux specialists. In addition to traditional recruitment channels, the company invests in online visibility and aims to increase its use of social media.
