Management


Chaired by the CEO, the Management Group is in charge of the day-to-day management of the Group's business convenes regularly to discuss issues, in accordance with the Group's quality management system. The Management Group has no official status based on the Companies Act or
Digia's Articles of Association i.e., it does not exercise authority by virtue of the Companies Act. In practice, the Management Group chaired by the CEO makes decisions on the company's day-to-day business operations, under the CEO's authority.

On a proposal submitted by the CEO, the Board of Directors confirms membership of the Management Group, typically comprising business-unit Vice Presidents and directors representing key functions.

The company's Board of Directors confirms the CEO's immediate subordinates' terms of employment, salary, remuneration, stock options and other benefits, as proposed by the CEO. Management Group members' compensation packages are tied to the Group's financial results, and their key employment terms are defined in writing.

Digia's Management Team consists following members:


Juha Varelius, President and CEO
Digia's President and CEO from January 1st, 2008. Previously he acted as a the technology company's President and CEO at Everypoint Inc of Boston (2006-2007). He has also acted as a managing director at Yahoo! Mobile Intl (2002-2006) in London. He has been in Sonera's Management Group and at the role of Managing Director of Sonera Zed (1999-2002) and he held various managerial positions in Cable TV Unit and Media Communication Unit at Sonera.

Asko Hakonen, Vice President, Industry & Trade (Interim) and VP, Digital Business Solutions
Hakonen is responsible for Industry and Trade division's operations and development. Previously, he was a business unit director at Sentera Plc, where he held various managerial positions (1998-2006). He has worked in the IT sector since 1985.

Tommi Laitinen, SVP Telecommunication division (Interim) and Senior Vice President, Strategic Resources and Development
Since 2005 Digia Plc's SVP responsible for the development of the company's strategic resources (processes, HR and technologies). His previous positions at Digia Inc. included Vice President, Engineering (2001-2004); Director, Quality and Processes (2001-2004); and Business Unit Manager (1999-2000). (1991-1999) He was in charge of various project and product management duties and software development duties at Econocap Engineering Oy, Teemuaho Oy, Verkonmerkki Oy and HALT Ohjelmointi Oy.

Antti Lastunen, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, since June 2008. He has previously worked as Director of Business Operations at SAP Nordic and before that as Director of Large Enterprise Sales at SAP Finland. He held managerial positions in Computer Associates and Inter Marketing between the years 1988 and 1997.

Juha Leinonkoski, Senior Vice President, Finance and Services division
The head of Digia's Finance and Services division. Previously, he was Managing Director at Samstock Oy (1999-2006). He held various managerial positions in Boss Consulting and Samlink Oy between the years 1989 and 1999.

Kjell Lindqvist, Chief Financial Officer
Since 2005 Digia Plc's CFO responsible for corporate finances and administration. Previously, he acted as Digia Inc.'s CFO (2000-2005) and, as a shareholder, was involved in various duties as Authorised Public Accountant at KPMG Oy (1982-2000).

Tomi Merenheimo, Vice President, Legal and Communications
VP responsible for Legal Affairs and Communications. Before joining SysOpen in 2002, he acted as a corporate lawyer at KCI Konecranes Plc (1999-2002) and the Financial Supervision Authority (1998-1999).
