Digia Plc and Philips to bring integrated high-performance multimedia solutions to Symbian OS smartphones


SYSOPENDIGIA Plc's Smartphone Business Division (SYSOPENDIGIA), the world's largest independent provider of Symbian OS based software integration services and solutions for smartphones, announced today a cooperation agreement with Philips to bring integrated high-performance multimedia solutions into Symbian OS smartphones based on Philips' NexperiaTM multimedia chipset architecture and SYSOPENDIGIA's contract engineering services.

The announced cooperation will target at bringing integrated high-performance multimedia solutions to smartphone manufacturers providing ease of integration of value-added multimedia features into Symbian OS based smartphone products cost-effectively with optimal time-to-market. The solutions will be based on Philips' Nexperia product family of chipsets integrated into the Symbian OS architecture by SYSOPENDIGIA enabling optimized performance for sophisticated applications and services in the area of real-time video, music,image processing and gaming with Philips cellular and wireless connectivity solutions.

Additionally to the announced cooperation, SYSOPENDIGIA joins the Nexperia Partner Program for Mobile to further improve the availability of highly integrated solutions for mobile phone manufacturers.
